WBRP BED BLITZ POSTPONED DUE TO COVID-19
The annual WBRP Bed Blitz event is being postponed from October 2020 until Spring 2021. Exact date has not been set.
The WBRP Bed Blitz gives local youth a twin-size bed frame, a brand new mattress, sheets, pillows, a blanket or quilt, laundry detergent, books, a hygiene kit, and a teddy bear. This entire kit is given away for free thanks to the generosity of individual donors and corporate sponsors like Sherman’s. Over 120 beds were given away in 2019.
Robert Bosquez, Bed Blitz Coordinator says: “In order to do our part in keeping our neighborhood and community safe, we have decided to postpone the annual Bed Blitz event held in October. While we are still as dedicated as ever to combating empowering residents and revitalizing our community, safety must come first. We want to thank everyone who has been involved in years past and apologize for being unable to hold this important event during this unprecedented time.”
If you -- or a family you know -- has an immediate need of a bed, please complete this form or send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org. We will do our best to meet those needs on a rolling basis.
The WBRP also welcomes donations of sheets, blankets, and pillows. Due to limited office hours, donors are encouraged to call ahead (309-829-1200) to arrange for drop off or pick up of materials.
